January is a time when most of us try to practise the old adage “new year, fresh start” or the equally determined “out with the old, in with the new”.

From a personal perspective this usually takes the form of various resolutions that, despite our best intentions, do not last and can be measured in days rather than weeks or years, as we had initially intended.

However, from a business perspective, we usually find January is the ideal time to get to grips with the various procedures or changes that have been needed for some time, but have been put off due to the constraints of the normal working day. One of these is the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system that a business has – to recap, a CRM system allows your business to centrally manage all of your customer and prospect contact data, your communication with them, manage your sales lifecycle and marketing activities, and monitor your customer service.
